        The Short Version

        Your data stays on your device. We don't have access to it. Period.

        All your health information is stored locally on your phone. We don't run any servers that collect your data. If
        you choose to backup to Google Drive, it goes to YOUR Google Drive — we still can't see it.

Introduction

Sugar Meter is a diabetes management app that helps you track glucose readings, insulin doses, and meals. This Privacy Policy explains exactly how your data is handled.

What Data You Enter

The app only stores what you manually enter:

Glucose readings (value, tag, notes, time)
Insulin doses (units, type, time)
Meals (type, carbs, calories)
Appointments and reminders
Your preferences (units, target range, theme)

We don't automatically collect anything — no location, no usage tracking, no device information.

Local Storage

All your data is stored on your device using a local database called Hive. It never leaves your phone unless you choose to export or backup.

Google Drive Backup (Optional)

If you enable cloud backup:

Your data is saved to YOUR personal Google Drive
It's stored as a JSON file in a SugarMeter folder
We cannot access your Google Drive
You can delete it anytime

What We DON'T Have

❌ No backend servers
❌ No database we control
❌ No way to see your health data
❌ No analytics or tracking SDKs
❌ No advertising

We literally cannot see your data even if we wanted to.

Third-Party Services

None of these services receive your health data.

Permissions We Request

All permissions are optional. The app works without them.

Your Control

You can:

View all your data anytime in the app
Export your data as PDF or CSV
Backup locally or to Google Drive
Delete everything via Settings → Clear All Data

Uninstalling the app deletes all local data.

Children's Privacy

This app is not for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we'll change the "Last updated" date above.
